I’m Craig Smith, a documentary photographer
based in Dorset.
I photograph people, animals and the places they share. I’m drawn to workshops, homes and landscapes where life leaves visible marks—places where things are made, used and worn.
My photographs are unstaged. I work by spending time, paying attention and allowing the character of a person or place to emerge without forcing it.
I’m currently developing A Year at Befferlands, an ongoing portrait of people, labour and everyday life in a working West Dorset community.
